EIB throws lifeline to Belgium’s Belwind project

A group of investors has pulled together a €482.5m ($686m) financing package to begin building Belgium’s 330-megawatt (MW) Belwind offshore wind farm, including €300m from the European Investment Bank (EIB), after buying the project from its collapsed parent company Econcern.
