Recurrent Energy picks ECD for ProLogis solar roofs
Energy Conversion Devices (ECD), a thin-film solar manufacturer, will provide solar systems for Recurrent Energy’s 4.8 megawatt solar rooftop development in Spain.
The Recurrent project, announced late last month, will cover 180,000 square metres across eight ProLogis distribution centre rooftops in Barcelona and Madrid.
Michigan-based ECD will supply its UNI-SOLAR photovoltaic laminates. Its subsidiary, Solar Integrated, will engineer, procure, and construct the systems. The combination of UNI-SOLAR installed by Solar Integrated is a first for ECD, states Mark Morelli, chief executive. The UNI-SOLAR laminates will be combined with SOPRASOLAR complex, a bituminous waterproofing system, applied directly to the roof.
