Ormat starts California plant; buys advanced Nevada property

Ormat Technologies’ North Brawley geothermal plant is in service but generating only 17 megawatts (MW), well short of its 50MW potential. The company is also purchasing a 100% interest in the Hot Sulphur Springs project in northeast Nevada.
