Orsted is in line for up to $100m of US federal funding to build its Star e-Methanol project on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico.
The project – which would tap new-build onshore wind and solar in Texas to produce green hydrogen – is one of 33 selected for support by the US Department of Energy under a programme to back breakthrough industrial decarbonisation technologies and projects.
