NextEra chief Ketchum sees AI-driven data centre power boom that only renewables can fuel

Industry pacesetter NextEra Energy sees the potential US renewables and storage market opportunity through 2030 at 375GW to 450GW of capacity versus 140GW installed in the previous seven years, according to CEO John Ketchum, who named power-hungry data centres among the drivers.

“We believe renewables and storage are a key enabler to help meet this increased demand,” he said Tuesday on an earnings call.
