REpower signs Michigan contract for turbines

German wind turbine manufacturer REpower has closed a contract to supply turbines for the Stoney Corners wind farm in Michigan, which is being developed by Heritage.

REpower will supply seven MM92 turbines with a capacity of 2 Megawatts (MW) each for the second phase of the project, which will be completed in October 2009. The total capacity of the facility, when completed, will be around 105 MW, REpower said.

Heritage is also developing other projects in Michigan which will give it another 400 MW in capacity between 2010, and 2012.
